Meet Lucy

I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.

Calm, cool and collected describes Lucy to a T. She has given us every indication she is potty trained and clearly someone was caring for her at some point, but sadly, no one came looking for her after she arrived as a stray in May.

Lucy is eager to please and looking for a new guardian who can provide calm, steady boundaries and put that giant brain to work and then have all the time for cuddles on the couch. She seems to do well with other dogs, but we always recommend doing a meet and greet at the shelter to make sure she gets along with your dog(s).

She has also tested heartworm positive so she needs a foster (or foster to adopt home) that has a calm place where she can undergo treatment for the heartworms. The shelter covers all costs and is here for you every step of the way!

The shelter is too loud, too stressful, and generally too much is happening around here for her to undergo the treatment here, which means we cannot begin treatment until she finds a foster or adopter. Every week that goes by means more damage is being done to her heart and other organs while she is ravaged by these terrible parasites!

Lucy is looking for a hero – could it be YOU?
